Father, I come to you today in the name of Jesus, asking for your help to break free from depression. Your Word says in Psalm 34:17-18, ‘The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’
I confess that I am righteous in Christ, and that you hear my cry for help. I acknowledge that I am brokenhearted and crushed in spirit, but I know that you are close to me and that you will save me. Your Word also says in Isaiah 61:3 that you give ‘a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.’
I receive that promise today, and I declare that you are giving me a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. I renounce any lies or negative thoughts that have been filling my mind, and I choose to replace them with your truth.
I declare that I am loved by you, that you have a plan for my life, and that you are working all things together for my good. I choose to focus on your goodness and your faithfulness, and I trust that you will bring me out of this season of depression.
Thank you for your mercy and your grace, and for the victory that I have in Christ. In Jesus name, amen.
