Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you seeking your divine guidance and wisdom in making the right marital decisions. Your word says in Proverbs 3:5-6, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.’
I declare that I trust in you with all my heart, and that I do not rely on my own understanding. I submit to you in all my ways, and I declare that you will make my paths straight and guide me in every decision related to marriage. Your word also says in Psalm 32:8, ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’
I declare that you are instructing me and teaching me in the way I should go when it comes to marriage, and that you are counseling me with your loving eye on me. Your word says in Proverbs 19:14, ‘Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.’
I declare that I am trusting in you to provide a prudent spouse for me, and that you will lead me to the right person for me. Your word says in James 1:5, ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.’
I declare that I am asking for your wisdom, and that you give it to me generously without finding fault. Your word says in 1 Corinthians 7:39, ‘A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.’
I declare that I am seeking to marry someone who belongs to you, Lord, and who will honor you in our marriage. I thank you, Lord, for your guidance and direction in my life, and I receive it by faith. In Jesus name, amen.
